March 19, 2008

The Khaksar Shuhada Conference is held in Lahore under the aegis of the Khaksar Tehreek (Pakistan), to pay tribute to the Khaksar Martyrs of March 19, 1940.

Politicians, retired judges, lawyers, thinkers, intellectuals, educationists, student leaders, and Khaksar workers and supporters attended the conference. Speeches were delivered by various people.

Addressing the Khaksar Shuhada Conference, the Chief of the Khaksar Tehreek, Hameedud din Al-Mashriqi, criticized Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan (Punjab Premier, Government of British India) for the brutal murder of the Khaksars on March 19, 1940 and for inflicting grave atrocities on the Khaksars under the black laws of the British rulers. Upon Hameedud din Al-Mashriqi's request, all speakers and attendees of the conference stood up from their seats to show their respect for the deceased Khaksars and saluted them and offered prayers for the departed souls.

Former Ambassador to the USA and former Federal Minister Syed Abida Hussain paid rich tribute to the late Allama Inayatullah Khan Al-Mashraqi, the Khaksar martyrs, and the role of current Tehreek leaders and workers.

Thinker and PPP leader Altaf Qureshi also paid rich tribute to the respected Allama Mashraqi.
